Unlike genetic screening, which highlights potential health issues, the test focuses on the 'lighter' side of your future baby's genetic makeup, according to HumanCode co-founder Jennifer Descale.
"We've coined it sunshine science,” she told the Balitmore Sun. "You get to look at the fun part of your potential future baby versus some of the scary stuff."The BabyGlimpse website further clarifies that it's designed as a "fun and informational experience, not a medical test." Genetic screening itself is controversial, due to the perception that it could encourage 'designer babies', but BabyGlimpse doesn't appear to go too deep.
As you might have guessed, it doesn't come cheap either.
A test costs $259.98 (€212.75) though HumanCode currently has it on offer for $99.98 (€81.82). You can check out the website here.
