Two iconic Corrie characters are going to get back together

We did not see this coming.

Two of Corries most iconic characters are set to rekindle their relationship. None other than Tracy Barlow and Steve McDonald are going to get back together. Fans of the show will know that they've had a fairly turbulent relationship, and that's putting it mildly. They've broken up and got back together more time than we can count. The couple, who have one child together, are going to get back together over the Christmas period. According to The Sun, it won't be an easy ride though, with their daughter Amy not wanting it to happen. Corrie boss Kate Oates revealed the storyline and gave an insight as to how it will play out. She said:

"Amy’s not happy about it, because she knows that they’re both trouble and on a very shallow level she’s used to things being as they are. She gets two birthday presents, two Christmas presents, she gets two sets of Christmas presents as kids of broken homes do.”

She added:

"I think she’s just worried that it will end in tears. Because she knows that they’re both walking car crashes and everything’s kinda alright and they kinda get on, and I think she’s really afraid of them getting together and then it all imploding so she’s not very happy to start with.”

Steve and Tracy haven't been together since 2011 when they had a storyline involving Steve's ex-wife Becky. Tracy got pregnant with twins as the couple got back together, but, sadly miscarried losing both babies. She told Steve that Becky pushed her down the stairs, when she didn't. The pair got married but the day after the wedding, Becky produced evidence to prove she had nothing to do with the death of their babies and so Steve decided to annul the marriage. Now, 6 years later, it appears the couple are ready to give their relationship another go. We're looking forward to seeing how it will turn out.
