Coronation Street has revealed the reason behind Nick Tilsley's return, which is due to air next week.
Ben Price will be reprising his role after more than a year away from Weatherfield. His first appearance back on-screen is due to air on Friday, October 12.
HIs return will be a part of
Coronation Street's explosive week, which will include a possibly life-threatening car crash, two weddings (Daniel and Sinead as well as Steve and Tracey) - and a shock death.
Not much has been revealed yet about Nick's big return, but
Corrie bosses have revealed one (fairly big) tidbit of information: his feelings for his ex-wife, Leanne, are what bring him back to Weatherfield.
It comes as it was recently revealed that Nick was going to be bringing a secret with him when he returns to the cobbles.
The Daily Star report that Nick is going to be returning as a married man - although not for long.
After his wife tracks him down in Weatherfield, he tells her that their marriage was a mistake and he wants a divorce.
Could this pave the way for a reunion with Leanne?
Actress Jane Danson said that she hopes Leanne would be able to reunite with the "love of her life" when Nick returns.
She told
The Express:
"Ultimately Nick is the love of Leanne's life – they've been through so much.
"They were teenage sweethearts and his mum, Gail, hates her. It's always been like Romeo and Juliet!
"So I would love it if they could settle down for good. Sometimes people do end up happy on Coronation Street!"
