Corrie fans could be waiting MONTHS to find out who sabotaged the factory roof

Keeley Ryan

Noooooo.

Late last year, Coronation Street showrunner Iain MacLeod confirmed that a beloved Weatherfield resident would be dyingafter roof of the factory roof crumbled.

While the tragedy appears as an accident at first, it will be revealed that “some kind of criminal enterprise” caused the collapse.

The Weatherfield residents will so realise the Underworld factory collapse is actually the work of a twisted person among them – a new “long-range” super villain

Rana Habeeb was killed on her wedding day last week, as the roof of the Underworld factory collapsed – and Carla Connor is currently blaming herself for not getting the roof fixed properly.

However, there’s been no sign of who the culprit behind the tragedy actually is – and it looks like their identity may be hidden for a few more months.

This Morning‘s Sharon Marshall said on Tuesday that fans won’t be finding out the villain’s identity “for ages and ages and ages.”

She said:

“We are not going to find out who was behind it and who this villain is for ages and ages and ages.

“So we’re going to be playing a guessing game for quite a few months now… Probably timing it around a major award ceremony.”

Coronation Street normally airs some major episodes in late May/early June, right before the British Soap Awards.

Las year, it was Pat Phelan’s brutal last stand – and we would imagine they’re going to need something equally as ‘big’ this year. So, the timing definitely makes sense.

We still can’t believe it’s so far away, though.
