Katie Mythen-Lynch

Fans of ex-Coronation Street star Katherine Kelly were treated to a nice surprise when the actress revealed she gave birth to a baby girl… three months ago.

Katherine, who played Becky McDonald in the soap for six years before moving on to Mr SelfridgeHappy Valley and Doctor Who spin-off Class, revealed the happy news in Hello magazine.

The South Yorkshire born star and her husband, Australian digital analyst Ryan Clarke, are already parents to Orla, who will turn three in March, and tried their best to keep the pregnancy quiet.

Baby Rose was born at London’s Whittington Hospital on October 21st. Katherine revealed her water birth was fast:

“It was a rush to get to the hospital and by the time we were checked in, Rose was born within one hour and forty minutes!”

Discussing her decision to keep the birth of her second daughter private during those early weeks, Katherine said her family enjoyed getting to klnow their newest member away from the prying eyes of the press.

‘We didn’t go out of our way to keep it a secret but we didn’t announce the pregnancy so people were not immediately on bump watch. So it’s been wonderful to have this precious time just for us,’ said Katherine (37).

She added: ‘I love my job but I do want to spend as much time as I can with Orla and Rose. To have two healthy children is a blessing,’ she told the magazine.
