Could soldier’s story be the key to solving the mystery of missing Ben Needham?

A soldier who claims to have information on the disappearance of missing British toddler Ben Needham 24 years ago has contacted the boy’s family.

The man, who got in touch after the Needham family appeared on Greek television in a desperate appeal for information last week, claims he was on a military exercise in Iraklis on Kos when the 21-month-old boy vanished in 1991.

He telephoned the TV show hotline to say he knew details about a ‘possible abduction’.

Police are chasing seven new leads since the TV show, The Light at the End of the Tunnel aired to an estimated 50% of Greeks, generating 85 calls from the public.

A man who came forward claiming to be Ben Needham was later ruled out after it came to light that he had already had a DNA test, however distraught Mum Kerry Needham remains positive:

“I just feel like Ben’s case is being taken seriously for the first time in almost 24 years.” she said.
