A couple have been arrested following a busking performance that involved the swinging of a baby.

The pair, from Russia, were filmed performing on the street in Kuala Lumpur earlier this week with the intention of earning money from the public.

Local media Bernama reports that the couple, aged 27 and 28, were arrested for child endangerment in the Malaysian capital.

Bystanders had reported the pair’s activities to the authorities.

Stills of the street performance, shared by CNN, show the unidentified man swinging the four-month-old child over his head and between his legs.

The infant is dressed in a nappy and the woman is sitting on the ground beside the male ‘performer.’

Facebook user, Zayl Chia Abdulla, who posted one of the videos wrote:

“I (happened) to pass by this area in Bukit Bintang and I saw this irresponsible act that can cause injury to that poor baby.

“Why is such an act allowed to be showcased to (the) public. These street performers need to be arrested! Please do something.”

The couple, who are married, are currently being held in the Dang Wangi police district headquarters.

They had carried out their dangerous ‘performance’ in the popular tourist district, Bukit Bintang.
