The Limerick band have paid tribute to their leader.

Tributes continue to pour in from far and wide following the sudden passing of Dolores O'Riordan on Monday, with everyone from pivotal figures in the music industry to President Michael D. Higgins taking time to remember the singer. Remaining band members Noel Hogan, Mike Hogan and Fergal Lawler issued their own moving statement via the official Cranberries Twitter and Facebook accounts on Monday night. "We are devastated on the passing of our friend Dolores," it begins. "She was an extraordinary talent and we feel very privileged to have been part of her life from 1989 when we started The Cranberries. The world has lost a true artist today. Noel, Mike and Fergal." https://twitter.com/The_Cranberries/status/953014891253780480 Dolores was a mum-of-three and died in London where she was for a recording session. A statement was released from her publicist on Monday evening. It read:

"Irish and international singer Dolores O’Riordan has died suddenly in London today. She was 46 years old.

"The lead singer with the Irish band The Cranberries, was in London for a short recording session.

"Family members are devastated to hear the breaking news and have requested privacy at this very difficult time."

The Ballybricken native joined The Cranberries in 1990. They became one of the biggest Irish bands of the 1990s, selling more than 40million albums worldwide. The band split in 2003, before getting back together in 2009. They released their latest album, Something Else, in 2017.
