The interview saw Diana telling Bashir that there were "three of us in this marriage", supposedly a dig at Camilla Parker Bowles and at the time was seen as the scoop of a generation.
The interview went on to define Diana's final months before she passed away in 1997 but recently has seen intense scrutiny.
Earlier this year a report by Lord Dyson found that Bashir had used "deceitful behaviour" as a way of obtaining the interview and getting Diana to agree to take part.
So much so, Prince William has urged for the interview to never be aired again.
"It effectively established a false narrative which, for over a quarter of a century, has been commercialised by the BBC and others,” William said after the report was published.
