Christmas is often jokingly referred to as engagement season but there’s now official research to back this up.
Data from Facebook, which involved information gathering from over 2.5 million users of the social media site, (lets ignore that part) has found that the day of the year most people get engaged is….Christmas Eve.
Horray, the 24th!
The next most popular is Christmas Day, while New Year’s Day rounds up the top three.
The social media giant also found that one-third of those surveyed got engaged between November and December, making winter a vey popular time for popping the question.
Interestingly, Facebook estimates that the average engagement lasts 14 months and there’s a one in four chance you’ll attend a wedding overseas at some stage.
