A teaser trailer for the final season of Derry Girls has been released. Fans of the beloved Irish show will be thrilled to hear it will return later this year. The upcoming season is set to be as bonkers as ever and we honestly cannot wait for it to air. It's been nearly three years since the Derry girls were on our screens, but the final season is bound to be worth the wait. The hilarious teaser trailer sees all the original cast return including Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan and Saoirse Monica Jackson. The actress who plays Erin Quinn shared the clip on her Instagram. She wrote, "Happy Saint Patrick’s Day everyone, Derry Girls coming soon." Derry Girls follows a group of teenagers growing up in Nothern Ireland towards the end of the Troubles. Speaking about the final season, actress Nicola Coughlan said she cried a lot when she read her final script. She told RadioTimes, "Lisa [McGee, the show's creator] knew she had huge ambitions with this one, [with] what she wanted to do. She's a genius. "Like, there's not really any other word for her. She just – everything is so brilliantly balanced and nuanced and the characters, there's so much detail in every single character in those scripts." She continued, "It's really magical. I cried and cried and cried when I finished reading the scripts. Because, you know, it's our last one.

"It's bittersweet, but I think we're sending it off in style," the actress added.
