It feels like just about every Disney classic has gotten the remake treatment lately.
From
Beauty and the Beast to
Dumbo; the
Jungle Book to
Aladdin, many of Disney's most beloved characters have gotten a big revamp on their return to the big screen
The latest animated classic to get the live-action treatment is none other than
Bambi.
Deadline report that Bambi, Flower and Thumper will be bound for the big screen, with
The Farewell team Chris Weitz, Paul Weitz and Andrew Miano set to produce under their production company Depth of Field.
Captain Marvel's Geneva Robertson-Dworet and
Sierra Burgess Is a Loser's Lindsey Beer are set to write the script.
Depth of Field are also said to be working on the revival of
Pinocchio.
Robert Zemeckis is set direct the reboot of the classic tale of a living puppet who, with the help of a cricket as his conscience, must prove himself worthy to become a real boy.
Other
Disney remakes on the way include
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, The Sword in the Stone and
The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
There's also
Prince Charming, a retelling of the
Cinderella story which "
takes a look at the iconic prince from the point of view of his brother, who never quite lived up to the family name."
