"You can't forecast that long in advance, a maximum of 10 days ahead.
"What I can see is only hot weather for [today] until the end of Tuesday, and then it's kind of over.
"High temperatures will occur in the south-east of the UK and we won't get any of it."
Today sees the beginning of the end for our good spell of weather in Ireland, meanwhile.
Met Éireann has said that today will be cloudy with potential rain and drizzle, though clearer weather is expected to break through in the north west in the afternoon.
Temperatures of 16 to 18 are forecast, though they could reach 19 to 22 degrees in the east and south.
Tomorrow will be cooler with some scattered showers and periods of sunshine. It's expected to stay like this for the next few days, though there'll be rain towards the end of the week.Explore more on these topics:
