Donald Trump is now president-elect of the United States of America, and as Europe processes that news, The Donald is promising a government that will serve the people.

The businessman took the stage at his New York headquarters to cries of ‘USA, USA’, and began by paying tribute to Hillary Clinton.

“I just received a call from Secretary Clinton. She congratulated us, it’s about us, on our victory, and I congratulated her and her family on a very, very hard fought campaign.” he told the crowd.

“She fought it very well. Hillary has worked very long and very hard over a long period of time, and we owe her a major debt of gratitude to our country.”

Speaking to a cheering crowd, Mr Trump said it was time for America “to bind the wounds of division” and “to come together as one united people.”

“I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be president for all Americans, and this is so important for me.

For those who have chosen not to support me… I’m reaching out to you for your guidance and your help so that we can work together to unify our great country.”

Trump then launched into a litany of thank-yous, mentioning everyone from his wife, Melania, to his children, his parents and siblings, secret service and NYC law enforcement.
