‘The Doorman and the Duck’ has to be the best Christmas ad of 2019

Edgar the excitable dragon won everyone over when John Lewis debuted their 2019 Christmas ad recently, but he might have some competition in the form of an adorable baby duck.

Telling the story of a little duckling who gets separated from his family Home Alone style and is looked after by a kind-hearted doorman, it’s all very cute.

Hastings Hotels shared their 2019 festive campaign where said duckling gets an insight into a life of luxury at Belfast’s Europa Hotel enjoying afternoon tea, a bespoke blowdry and a night in one of its sumptuous bedrooms.

The little guy has the time of his life before he’s reunited with his family all thanks to the kind doorman.

Speaking about The Doorman and The Duck, Julie Hastings, Marketing Director of Hastings Hotels, commented:

“The duck has been central to Hastings Hotels for almost 30 years and we are delighted to bring him to life this year for our Christmas Campaign”

“The new ad represents the true sentimentality of the festive season and we hope people will fall in love with ‘The Doorman and the Duck’ just as much as we have”.

Hastings rubber ducks are given to guests complimentary when they stay at one of the group’s seven hotels located across Northern Ireland and of course, they’re a very popular souvenir especially with the kids.

They’re prominent at Christmas with duck toys give as ‘quackers’ for Christmas party nights and dining, instead of standard festive crackers.

To celebrate The Doorman and the Duck too, Hastings has launched a Black Friday offer which includes a bottle of wine or bubbles per transaction, when you spend £100 (€118) or more on Hastings Hotels Gift Cards.
