Perfect for the kids who grew up watching Dora.
Someone is turning the beloved cartoon Dora The Explorer into a live action movie. That person is none other than Michael Bay, who brought us such movies as Transformers, The Purge, Armageddon and 13 hours many other action-packed movies.
This announcement might come as quite a shock to Dora fans, who know that although she is an ‘explorer’, she certainly doesn’t seem too interested in stunts or dramatic scenes.
To make this movie more appealing to audiences, Michael is apparently looking to change the storyline slightly. According to Hollywood Reporter, he wants to focus on a teenage Dora, moving on from 7-year-old people would be familiar with.
She will be moving in with her cousin Diego in the big city. Nick Stoller, the writer-director from The Muppets, is also thought to be involved.
There have been no further details given but it’s believed to be scheduled for release sometime in 2019.
