White House physician Kevin O'Connor issued a statement following the procedure;
"All cancerous tissue was successfully removed, and the margins were clear of any residual skin cancer cells."
Dr. O'Connor said they don't think any further procedures will be needed.
However, Dr. Biden's team will monitor her closely as she heals from the procedure.
Dr. O'Connor also confirmed that an area of concern was identified on the left side of Dr. Biden's chest during the preoperative consultation.
He said it was "consistent with potential basal cell carcinoma".
Dr. Biden will likely experience bruising and facial swelling but is recovering well from the procedure.
She is feeling well and is in good spirits, her doctor shared.
President Joe Biden accompanied his wife yesterday.
