Two animals have now been found decapitated in Dublin.
Gardaí in Dublin have launched an investigation after the discovery of a second decapitated animal.
The DSCPA was contacted after a cat was found in Ballyboden.
It is believed the cat had been decapitated and dumped in a green area.
Both the DSPCA and Dublin Gardaí have launched an investigation.
“The cat, a tabby and white female had been decapitated and the head was not found at the scene.”
“The DSPCA and Rathfarnham Gardaí are currently investigating.”
Both the DSPCA and Gardaí in Rathfarnham are calling on anyone who saw something suspicious.
They’re also calling for people with CCTV footage to contact Rathfarnham Garda Station as soon as possible.
Just days ago, a dog was found in a similar condition in South Dublin.
A member of the public discovered the dog’s body near some bins.
Gardaí said this level of abuse is incredibly disturbing.
“We know that the animal was not killed or decapitated at the place it was found.
“There is evidence that it was brought there in a vehicle and dragged a short distance to where it was dumped.”
“We really need to find out what happened to this poor animal. It is a disgraceful way to treat any animal and the fact that its head is missing is even more disturbing.”
