The DSPCA are urging everyone to be mindful of animals and their pets.
With Met Éireann having issued a red weather warning in the wake of Ophelia, schools having been shut, public transport has been majorly affected and with numerous reports of power outages across the south today, it’s important we don’t forget about any furry pals.

It’s advised cats and dogs should be brought inside (they too feel the cold) and ensure horses, cattle and the likes are in a safe and secure environment, safeguarding them from danger such as traffic and roads.
