Dublin Bus is getting a 24-hour bus service which will include stops at Dublin Airport

Marvellous.

After many requests for Dublin Bus to up its transport game to cater to those working irregular hours and travelling overseas, the company is finally set to introduce a new 24-hour service on certain routes before the end of the year.

The first route reported to see the 24-hour service come into play is route 41 between Swords and the Dublin city centre which also serves Dublin Airport.

Speaking to the Sunday Independent yesterday, NTA CEO Anne Graham said:

"We know there is a demand for 24-hour services within Dublin city so we're hoping to commence at least one service this year in Dublin Bus.

"We haven't got the routes worked out yet, but we are planning that we would extend these on the key routes around the city."

A 24-hour service is already in place in Cork on one bus route, the 220 between Carrigaline and Ballincollig. The success of this service has been seen in Cork in the past year and so, Dublin Bus looks set to follow suit on certain routes before the year is over.
