Dublin Security Guard Stabbed With Screwdriver

A security guard has been hospitalised with stab wound injuries.

It’s believed that the man, thought to be in his twenties, was stabbed several times with a screwdriver.

According to reports, he was trying to stop a group of three from shoplifting at the Boots pharmacy located in the Omni Shopping Centre Park, Santry.

He was stabbed three times, once in the shoulder and twice in his arm, but his injuries are not life-threatening.

A spokesperson for Boots told The Independent:

“We are assisting gardai with their inquiries regarding an incident that occurred in-store today. As a garda investigation is underway, we are unable to comment further at this time”.
