A recall has been issued for an Early Learning Centre toy over safety fears.

The ELC is carrying out a voluntary recall of its Jungle Fun Ball Run toy product. There is a concern that the toy may collapse, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission said on its website.

The products affected in question were on sale between July 2016 and January 2018 in Mothercare and Argos (both online and in-store).

The CCPC said that 116 units of the toy were sold.

It’s calling on anyone who purchased the toy to return it to the store where they got it to claim a full refund.

Anyone who bought the toy online is urged to contact the online store’s customer service helpline.

It’s the third infant product that the CCPC has recalled in the space of four days.

On Wednesday, Vtech urged customers in Ireland who had bought the Vtech Pack & Go Travel Mobile to return the product to stores.

The motorised mobile, which attaches to the side of a cot, could crack after prolonged usage.

“If strong pressure is exerted on the mobile it is possible the cracks may weaken the clamp and the mobile may fall from the crib,” the manufacturer warned.

Also on Wednesday, distributor Wild and Wolf recalled its Petit Collage wooden toy xylophone.
