EastEnders‘ dramatic new trailer has teased some serious danger ahead as Mel Owen continues her quest for revenge on the Mitchell family.
The footage hints at plenty of drama in Albert Square over the weeks ahead, as Louise Mitchell teams up with her stepmother Sharon for a joint 18th/ 50th birthday party.
Louise is engaged to Keanu Taylor, with the pair also expecting a child together. And unknown to everyone except for Mel, Sharon is also expecting Keanu’s child – and Mel has been blackmailing her with the information ever since the death of her son, Hunter.
The brief trailer begins with Mel threatening to “say a few words” at the birthday party, before cutting to a worried Sharon telling Keanu how Mel’s “going to blow the whole lot, me, you, the baby – everything.”
As Mel is seen looking lovingly at a photo of Hunter, Lisa Fowler tells someone: “She’s still in a really bad place and every now and then she’s going to lose it.”
It then flashes to Louise arriving at the party, before showing Mel telling her: “I always look out for you” as a worried Keanu and Sharon look on.
There’s a montage of guests at the festivities looking horrified, including Louise who looks shocked at whatever she is seeing.
A grinning Mel can be then seen racing Sharon in a car, as a voiceover with Keanu says: “Just get to Phil, before she does.”
