Why Ed Sheeran says he will quit music in order to raise his family

He's planning kids already with Cherry.

Record-breaking singer Ed Sheeran has announced his plans to quit music.

The Shape Of You artist says his ambition will “go to zero” as soon as he has children with his new fiancée, Cherry Seaborn.

Sheeran announced his engagement this weekend.

The pair have known each other since school and now Sheeran will quit music much sooner than most would like.

He has stated that once he has children, he’ll be stepping away from the music industry.

“My ambition is going to go to zero as soon as I have kids,” he said. “I am going to be like, ‘I do not really care anymore as I have another life to take care of.'”

“It is totally understandable because you have children and your ambition shifts to be like, ‘I want to be a good father,'” Sheeran told the Daily Star.

Although when that is exactly is, well, unknown. Apart from frequent public remarks by Sheeran in recent years that he is ready to settle down and have kids. He told Zane Lowe he wants “tour bus babies – little fat, chubby babies that just walk around.”

The pair first met at Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham, when Ed fostered a long-standing crush before Cherry left for Duke University in North Carolina.

He proposed late last year.
