Former Emmerdale actress Scarlett Archer has shared her personal experience of sexual harassment.

Scarlett, whom fans of the show will recognise as Nell Fairfax, took to Twitter to share of how a stranger sexually harassed her on the tube, leaving her in tears.

The actress, who has also appeared in Call The Midwife and Doctors, spoke of how she was upset but “didn’t have the guts” to say anything.

She then went on to say that this happens too many women and that she’s happy there’s been a reaction to the many reports of sexual assault recently.

Her tweet read:

“To the guy who just sexually harassed me on the tube – I hate you. I hate you SO much but I didn’t have the guts to say anything.

“I just took it. Then cried. Like too many women. I’m glad we’re getting angry”.

This was followed by:

“Btw, I know this isn’t a gender thing and plenty of men have to go through this too.

“It’s just heartbreaking because all down to respecting your fellow humans. All my love is with you guys. I love you so much!”

In recent weeks, there has been a large number of sexual assault allegations with a number of women coming forward to share their personal experiences with Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. This led to him being expelled from the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences

Kevin Spacey is also facing a number of accusations including people who worked alongside him on House of Cards.

Just last week, allegations were made against Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick and comedian Louis C.K. issued a statement after five women accused him of sexual misconduct.
