Emmerdale killer Lachlan White is going to be returning to the village SO soon

Emmerdale's Lachlan White is going to be making a The twisted teen is currently facing a very, very long prison sentence for killing multiple people - including his mum, grandad and his best friend. The character's exit appeared to air in September, with him and jail and the police seemingly having had enough evidence to send him away for years. However, it looks like Emmerdale residents are going to be in for a surprise soon - as Lachlan is set to return. Metro report that the killer's reign of terror in the village hasn't come to an end just yet, and that it's going to open some old wounds for his ex, Belle. A source told the publication:

"Taking a break away from the village was just what Belle needed to get her head together after everything she went through with Lachlan. But as she tries to get back on track, the ever conniving Lachlan hasn’t forgotten about her or the village. "There are some more brief scenes coming up involving Lachlan but whether he is repentant over his crimes and wants to make amends or whether he has revenge on his mind once again remains to be seen. "Either way, these are old wounds that Belle really didn’t need to have opened up. Every time she thinks she can forget about Lachlan, things have a habit of coming back to haunt her."

  Thomas Atkinson is set to reprise his role for the dramatic and sure-to-be explosive storyline, although no more information is available about the storyline...beyond the fact that it's going to be happening in the not-so-distant future. With the holidays a time of murder, mayhem and misery in soapland,  could Lachlan be making it a not-so-merry Christmas for the villagers? Atkinson previously hinted that his exit may not be permanent, adding:

"Will he be back? I don't know. "You'll have to ask the soap gods about that. I mean, he's not dying. "He's going to prison. There could be a trial. You know, we don't know? We'll have to see!"
