She has lost primary custody of her 4-year-old son.

Teen Mom star Amber Portwood has lost custody of her son.

The mum’s 4-year-old son James will now live with his father in Malibu, California.

Portwood and her ex-partner Andrew Glennon have been involved in a custody battle since 2019.

This week, a judge ruled that the 4-year-old can relocate and move in with his father in California.

Glennon has been granted primary physical custody of their son. However, he must seek Teen Mom star Portwood’s permission before making decisions about their son’s health, religion and education.

Glennon was originally granted custody after Portwood was arrested for domestic violence in 2019.

The reality star has not been allowed to have overnight stays with her son until now.

Under a new agreement, the mum will be allowed to have overnight stays every month with her son in both Indiana and California.

Both parents also need to submit drug tests for the next three months.

Teen Mom star Portwood spoke to E! News after the result.

“A person should have the chance to redeem themselves and not be tethered to their problems from the past.”

“I’ll never stop fighting for my children who I love more than anything,” the mum added.

Glennon says he was living a nightmare, but he is now living the “dream” after being granted primary custody.

Amber is also a mum to daughter Leah.
