"I think porn is a disgrace."
Billie Eilish has opened up about how she feels "incredibly devastated" by her exposure to "so much porn" at an early age.
Speaking to
Howard Stern on his show earlier this week, the 19-year-old singer-songwriter spoke of the impacts early exposure had on her and her sexual experiences.
"I used to watch a lot of porn, to be honest," she said. "I started watching porn when I was like 11."
The seven-time Grammy Award winner explained that in her early years of watching it, she thought it would help her feel like "one of the guys".
"I think it really destroyed my brain, and I feel incredibly devastated that I was exposed to so much porn," she said, adding now, "as a woman, I think porn is a disgrace."
Watching porn from such a young age left Billie vulnerable in her early sexual encounters.
"The first few times I, you know, had sex, I was not saying 'no' to things that were not good," she elaborated. "It was because I thought that's what I was supposed to be attracted to."
The the unrealistic expectations of sex perpetuated by porn is explored in Billie's song, 'Male Fantasy', which features the lyrics: "Distract myself with pornography/I hate the way she looks at me/I can't stand the dialogue, she would never be/That satisfied, it's a male fantasy".
"I'm so angry that porn is so loved, and I'm so angry at myself for thinking that it was okay," she told Howard Stern.
"The way that vaginas look in porn is f**king crazy. No vaginas look like that. Women's bodies don't look like that. We don't come like that."
