"I've never gotten over the loss of our mother"
Brian Dowling has been praised for opening up about the loss of his mother. Over the weekend, the new dad visited his mother's grave with his daughter Blake. It was the first time he took his baby girl to his mother's grave.
As tough as it was, the dad wanted to use the opportunity to open up about grief.
He said he is heartbroken because his daughter will never meet his mum.
Alongside a photo of Brian and Blake in the graveyard, the dad shared;
"Blake may never get to meet her Nana Rosie but I guarantee you she will hear all about her on a daily basis."
"To think Blake will never really know mum or get any cuddles from her breaks my heart.
"I've never ever gotten over the loss of our mother and I never will, to this day over 4 years later I still ask why.
"No matter what age you are you always try to be open/honest and transparent when it comes to grief."

Dowling hosts a podcast Death Becomes Him where he talks about grief in an honest and open way.
He said recording the podcast is very dark and emotional for him so he stepped away from it when he and husband Arthur started planning on having a baby.
Dowling confirmed he is now working on the fifth season of his podcast.
The dad added, "To anyone out there struggling with grief remember you are not alone, so many people know how you are feeling, and please don't be afraid to ask for help."
