Emily Ratajkowski backlash

The first-time mam was met with criticism while posting holiday snaps

Emily Ratajkowski is currently facing backlash over a series of photos she posted of herself holding her baby son.

The model and actress took to Instagram to share photos from her holiday in celebration of turning 30.

In the snaps, she’s wearing a bikini that matches son Sylvester’s swimming shorts. But it wasn’t the mama-and-me moment that got the internet talking.

Users were quick to comment on the way she’s holding baby ‘Sly’ one-handedly in the pics as they chastised the lack of neck support for the three-month-old.

The criticism prompted Emily to disable comments on the post, but that didn’t stop people from referring to it in the comment section of her other Instagram posts.

Comments included: “kinda funny how she turned off the comments in her other pic,” “remember when you held your baby like a sack of potatoes,” “your child isn’t an accessory, learn how to hold him properly,” and “ok but why are you holding a baby like it’s a prop in your last pic?”

Others headed to Twitter and TikTok to complain and joke about the photos.

“It’s a purseon,” one TikTok user joked, while another commented, “they hold Fendi bags with more grip than that.” “Why isn’t she supporting its head?” asked another.

Piers Morgan, a regular critic of Emily, also weighed in. He Tweeted a screenshot of the post, writing, “That’s not how you hold a baby @emrata – and your millions of followers shouldn’t be encouraged to do the same. Happy to give you some tips if you need them.”

The former Good Morning Britain host and the American supermodel have been engaged in a feud for years. In 2016, he criticised her nude photoshoot for Harpers Bazaar, prompting her to clap back.

In 2017, he referred to her as a “dim-witted,” “obscure creature” and complained about an editorial video she did for Love magazine, in which she writhed around in spaghetti while wearing lingerie. Just earlier this year on GMB, he once again attacked her for posing nude while pregnant as co-host Susanna Reid defended her.

Emily welcomed baby Sylvester with husband Sebastian Bear-McClard in March of this year. The couple have been married since 2018.
