“With co-parenting you’ve got to be fair”

Helen Flanagan has explained why she will spend the holidays without her three children.

The former Coronation Street actress shares daughters Matilda, 7, and Delilah, 5, and son, Charlie, 2, with her ex-fiancé, Scott Sinclair.

The couple called it quits in July 2022 after 13 years together.

This Christmas, the TV personality will head home to Bolton while her kids spend the holidays with their father.

Speaking the Closer, Helen says it will be her first Christmas without her children.

“My children really miss their daddy and they’re very close to their nanna, so they’re going to spend Christmas with them,” she told the outlet.

“I won’t have them for about four days. It will actually be the first Christmas that I don’t have my children.”

However, the mum-of-three has a special surprise in store for her little ones.

When she is reunited with her children after Christmas Day, she plans to take them abroad to Bali.

Last Christmas, she and her ex opted to put their differences to one side for their children and spend the day together.

This year, however, Helen says her kids miss their father and the distance between her and Scott’s homes has made it difficult to bring everyone together.

“My children are very close to Scott’s mum – we get on very well – and they live in Bath and I live in Bolton. My children really miss their daddy and they’re very close to their nanna, so they’re going to spend Christmas with them.

“I think it’s good to have challenges, and with co-parenting, you’ve got to be fair. And it’s not about you, it’s about the children and what makes them happy.”
