It’s the movie we’ve all been waiting for!
Paddington 3 will officially begin filming next year, StudioCanal has announced.
The news, which is bound to brighten everyone’s day, was revealed at Cannes Film Festival this week.
The production crew and writers that worked on the first two movies will be returning for the marmalade-loving bear’s third film.
Paul King will act as executive producer so we know the movie is in safe hands.
The cast has yet to be confirmed but we’re expecting Ben Whishaw, who voices Paddington, to return. Here’s hoping Downton Abbey’s Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, and Julie Walters will also reprise their roles.
Will Hugh Grant return as Phoenix Buchannan? Or maybe Nicole Kidman as Millicent?
Perhaps our very own Brendan Gleeson will team up with everyone’s favourite bear again.
We’re hoping Colin Firth, who was originally set to voice Paddington, might even make an appearance.
The plot is being kept under wraps, but there’s no doubt movie-goers will love Paddington 3 just as much as the first two movies.
The second movie was heralded as one of the greatest movies of all time and remains one of the highest-scoring movies on Rotten Tomatoes.
We may have to wait a while until Paddington 3 hits cinemas, but there’s no doubt it’s going to put a smile on all our faces after the year we’ve all had.
