Many will remember growing up and watching Caan in the Christmas movie Elf.

One said, “RIP James Caan, one of the all time greats. I’d like to put in a word for his performance in Elf, because he brings the full James Caan intense negativity to the role and the way it plays off Will Ferrell’s ridiculous optimistic Buddy performance is just incredible.”

Another added, “This one stings. Farewell to the blistering, broad-shouldered powerhouse talent that was James Caan.”

One fan said: “A legend has left us. This one hurts.”
