“It was very unexpected”
Presenter Karen Koster has announced the death of her mum.
The former Xposé host confirmed the harrowing news during the Six O’Clock Show.
Karen said her mum’s death was extremely unexpected.
Speaking on the show, the heartbroken presenter said it doesn’t feel real.
“My mum passed away suddenly two weeks ago. It was very unexpected,” she shared.
Karen said the last couple of weeks have been surreal for her family.
“The weird thing is that since restrictions lifted, we almost made such a point of packing in as many memories as we could with mum.”
“So, I nearly have a picture of every single time I saw her over the last year and every special occasion we had.”
Karen said that has been a massive comfort for her.
She also thanked the public and her loved ones for all of their supportive messages.
“The kids have been unbelievably resilient, a bit too resilient actually. I’m like ‘Be more sad, I can’t be a normal mum right now’.”
“But what can you do? You get through it and you put one foot in front of the other and it’s a strange time,” she added.
Karen’s beloved mum Brenda Koster died at her home in Killiney on May 29th.
