Kate Garraway reveals husband Derek took a “frightening turn”

She said her husband was fighting for his life again.

Kate Garraway has revealed her husband Derek recently took a turn for the worse. In an emotional Instagram post, the presenter confirmed her husband Derek was back in the hospital. She stressed that even though he took a bad turn, Derek is being cared for by the best doctors. "Thank you so so much for all your messages of support - they really do mean the world to me and the whole family." "I have taken some time off in the last 3 weeks as Derek’s health took an unexpected & frightening turn for the worse. She explained that Derek ended up in intensive care. Kate also said her husband was "fighting for his life - again". She praised the doctors who have been caring for him in recent weeks. "Thanks to the amazing NHS teams & his own extraordinary life force and spirit Derek -please god - is back on the right side of it now. Kate confirmed she will be returning to work soon. Kate's husband Derek spent months in ICU after contracting Covid-19 in March 2020. He was in a critical condition until March 2021. Garraway previously said her husband now has numerous health problems because of the virus.
