The couple split up in 2017.
Louise Redknapp has revealed that her mother believed she would eventually get back together with her ex-husband Jamie Redknapp.
She said she had stayed with her mother while going through the break-up and that her mother had been trying to comfort her and said, “sometimes you have to break to come back together”.
Louise split from the former professional footballer four years ago. The pair have two children together, 17-year-old Charles and 13-year-old Beau from their marriage of 19 years.
Speaking on Steve Anderson’s Such A Good Feeling podcast, Louise discussed the lyrics to her song Breaking Back Together, from her 2019 album Heavy Love and how they were inspired by her mother’s words.
“She said to me, ‘You know what Lou, sometimes you have to break to come back together. You are going to have to accept that this isn’t gonna go away overnight’.”
The idea breaking up and getting back together really resonated with her and she decided to write a song about it.
Jamie has since gotten married to fiancé Frida Andersson and the couple recently welcomed their first child together.

Announcing the news on Instagram, Jamie wrote: “Meet Raphael Anders Redknapp. We’re so in love, mum is doing so well too.
“We can’t thank the amazing doctors and nurses at the Chelsea and Westminster enough. So excited for him to meet my boys.”
Louise recently took to social media to clarify that Jamie’s baby announcement had not left her in “despair”, despite claims otherwise.
