Dan took part in the sixth season of the Australian reality TV show, which is currently airing in the UK and Ireland.
The car salesman married Tamara only to eventually involve himself in an illicit affair with Jessika, who was married to Mick at the beginning of the series.
Due the show's premise being based around couples living together, getting to know one another, and ultimately trying to make a life together despite only just meeting, Jessika decided to continue to feign interest in Mick for the sole purpose of staying in the game and getting to spend more time with Dan.
This triggered the beginning of the #FreeMick movement, a call to have Mick informed of his wife's deceit and allow him to leave the show on his own terms.
It turns out love may not be the only deceit in Dan's live after all. But if you'd like to be involved in your own questionable marriage to a stranger at some point soon, never fear because applications for the next series of MAFS UK are now open.
The show will be undergoing a bit of revamp and will also be moving from Channel 4 to E4. The channel confirmed the news in a statement this week, and yes - they are looking for new contestants to take part.
"Following the Australian format, rather than legal marriages, the couples will make a lifelong commitment to one another at a glamorous ceremony, overseen by a wedding celebrant, that includes guests, bridal gowns, dancing, speeches and cake," they said.
