“Why is she dressed like a schoolgirl?”: Nicole Kidman under fire over magazine cover

“Who thought this was a good idea?”

Nicole Kidman’s latest magazine cover has come under fire over claims it has been heavily photoshopped.

The Oscar nominee appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair for its 28th Hollywood Issue, but people were less than impressed by the photos.

The magazine has been accused of photoshopping her body, as well as dressing her like a schoolgirl.

One wrote, “She’s an accomplished actress who’s nominated for an Oscar. Why is she dressed like a schoolgirl? Not cool.”

“Nicole Kidman is incredible but this styling is terrible. I’m shocked she agreed to this,” one added.

Another said: “No one is shaming Nicole Kidman. At least I’m not. It’s not even her body! I’m shaming the incredibly unrealistic photoshop and the presentation that a woman of enormous talent and power is still reduced to a sex symbol.”

“One of the most prolific actresses (and also most beautiful) and she is presented as skimpy dressed school girl. In 2022. Who thought this was a good idea? The mind boggles.”

“Why are we trying to make a grown woman look like a 13-year-old girl?” another asked.

Another asked why a woman needs to be “fetishized as a teen to make it on the cover of Vanity Fair?”

Many stressed that Nicole is beautiful and deserves to be celebrated, but the cover degrades her as both an actress and a woman.

“I’m confused by this styling choice. Not because she doesn’t look great, not because it’s revealing and not like women can wear whatever at any age it’s just strange that they dressed her in a schoolgirl outfit. I’ll give it this: If this image doesn’t sum up the last 28 years of Hollywood I don’t know what does.”

Kidman said she was “honoured” to be part of Vanity Fair’s Hollywood Issue.
