The Pirates of the Caribbean actor (48) is facing a lot of criticism after sharing a photo of himself with his four-year-old daughter Daisy, naked on the beach.
The actor shared a series of photos on his Instagram yesterday (August 4) of himself and Daisy enjoying what looks like a family holiday at the beach.
However, one particular image has sparked some controversy online.
The picture shows Daisy, whom Orlando shares with his ex-fiancée Katy Perry, being held by her father as they walk along the beach towards the sea.
Initially, Orlando posted the picture with Daisy's bum exposed before deleting it and quickly reposting it with an emoji covering her.
Although there's nothing scandalous about a toddler swimming naked with her father, many did question whether it was appropriate for the actor to post the original photo without an emoji to his 7 million followers.
The picture especially took fans by surprise as Katy and Orlando have been very careful to keep their child very private by never showing her face on social media.
One Reddit user saw both sides of the argument: "It’s super common for small kids to run around naked on beaches where I’m from, wet swimsuits are a nightmare to put on them. That being said, there are a lot of weirdos out there and posting the picture is not a good idea."
Another Reddit user wasn't as polite about the matter: "Some parents are such idiots. They don’t post this child’s face on social media so they do understand privacy but then post a naked pic. Make it make sense."
Others come to Orlando's defence, saying that it's normal for children to swim naked and that the people criticising the actor are making too much out of an innocent photo.
One user on Instagram commented: "Why are ppl saying protect the child ….. Jees my childhood photos would have had loads of stickers over them, bare butts everywhere."
Another wrote: "Some of these comments I swear!!! Always looking to make something out of nothing!!!"
Orlando's Instagram post comes after endless speculation about Orlando and Katy's split.
While neither Katy nor Orlando has spoken out about the split, their representatives have since issued a statement confirming the breakup.
They told US Weekly: "Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting.
"They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is—and always will be—raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect."
Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry began dating back in 2016 and welcomed their daughter, Daisy, four years later in 2020.
