Keep Dancing: The return date for Strictly Come Dancing has been revealed

Kat O'Connor

Time to dust off your dancing shoes. Strictly is back!

Our Saturday nights are about to get a little bit more glitzy as Strictly Come Dancing returns this month.

Fans of the show won’t have long to wait until the show is back on our telly screens.

Contestant and BBC Breakfast host Dan Walker accidentally revealed the return dates and it’s just around the corner.

He shared that the first episode will air on September 18. The launch show sees the contestants meet their dance partners for the first time and also gives fans a glimpse at their dancing skills.

The journalist then shared that the live episodes will air a week after on September 25.

We’re officially counting down the days!

This year’s line-up was announced in the summer. Stars including singer Tom Fletcher, influencer Tilly Ramsey, The Crown star Greg Wise, and former rugby player Ugo Monye will be taking part in this year’s show.

BBC journalist Dan Walker, comedian, and actor Robert Webb, TV presenter AJ Odudu, Bake Off’s John Whaite, CBBC presenter Rhy Stephenson and actress Katie McGlynn have also signed up for Strictly 2021.

Joining them are Dragon Den star Sara Davies, actresses Nina Wadia and Rose Ayling-Ellis, Olympian Adam Peaty and Loose Women’s Judi Love.

Due to the pandemic, judge Bruno Tonioli will not be returning for this year’s show.

Professional dancer Anton Du Beke has stepped into his shoes and will be the fourth judge on this year’s panel.

Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood, and Shirley Ballas will all return to judge this year’s contestants.

There’s no doubt we could all do with a little bit of Strictly cheese and glamour after the past few months. We certainly cannot wait for it to return later this month.

Strictly Come Dancing 2021 returns on September 18.
