Sophie Turner shares letter proving she and Joe Jonas planned UK move before divorce

Sophie Turner has reportedly produced a letter in court documents that has irrefutable proof that she and Joe Jonas, 34, had plans to move and raise their two daughters in England.

Jonas filed for divorce from Turner, 27, earlier this month, citing that their marriage of four years was ‘irretrievably broken’.

Since divorce proceedings began, the Game of Thrones actress has filed a lawsuit against the Jonas Brother at the US District Court in New York to see the return of their two children, Willa, 3, and Delphine, 1, to England.

Page Six reports that earlier this week, new documents were filed by Sophie, including a letter that was allegedly penned by her estranged husband, just three months before he filed for divorce, where he writes about his hopes to see the family spending their future in a property located in Wallingford, Oxford.

The letter, which was addressed to the property owner in a bid to persuade them to sell their €8.5 million estate, reads:

“When my wife and I decided we were going to spend more time in the UK and search for a permanent home, our daughter expressed three unwavering requirements: having chickens, a pony and a Wendy house.”

“While many of the houses we viewed met this criteria, the moment we turned the corner and caught sight of the charming blue shutters adorning, we experienced a sense of magic unlike anything we had felt before.”

The outlet that obtained these documents reports that in this letter, the DNCE frontman writes of how he saw himself having picnics there with his daughters, alongside the property’s ‘beautiful walled garden’ and how he had discussed the property with his father-in-law.

“My father-in-law is an incredibly keen gardener, and he was suitably impressed by your vegetable garden too, a very important sign off.

“I have been completely charmed by the idea of dropping my children to school on the boat and being able to spend a leisurely afternoon cruising to the pub with friends on my very own boat.”

Jonas also goes on to praise the homeowner for the layout of their home and says one of their bigger rooms would be perfect for a recording studio.

“We could tell that your family have truly loved living here and we can envision our children growing up here and making this our forever home.

“I really think Sophie and I will be able to look after [redacted names] and for many years pay homage to the magic you have created here.”

The property owner, in response to the letter, reportedly accepted Jonas and Turner’s offer, and the former couple placed a 10 percent deposit, totaling £750,000 (€863,487.20), on the house on July 7th, two months before news broke that the couple were divorcing.

As per the court documents, Page Six reports that the sale of the house in the UK was set to finalise on December 2nd, but the house is in escrow and the sale ‘never closed’.

Turner is claiming in her court filing that the purchase of the Oxford property was months in the making and alleges that in late 2022, she and her estranged husband ‘agreed and committed to relocate to England’ at that point. They then left their home in Miami on March 10th.

In the court documents, Turner adds that she and the ‘Sucker for Love’ singers’ elder daughter, Willa, were then enrolled in a nursery full-time in England and Wales after April.

Turner and Jonas put their Florida home up for sale that same month, and the Sunshine State property was sold by August. Prior to this, many of the family’s personal belongings were ‘shipped’ to the UK between May 5th and July 31st, per the court documentss.

The English actress argues in the filing that because neither she nor Jonas are full-time residents in Miami anymore, the city’s court should not have any jurisdiction over their pending divorce and therefore asks that the case be dismissed.

She also says in the court documents that her two girls, Willa and Delphine, 1, are in her care at a temporary accommodation in New York’  and that she has requested that Jonas return their daughters to England, something she says he has ‘refused’ to do.

This resulted in Turner suing Jonas earlier this month, alleging he had ‘wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained’ their two young daughters, something Jonas denies.

The former couple later agreed that they would keep Willa and Delphine in New York City amid their ongoing divorce battle, and a rep for Jonas stated that he and the Game of Thrones alum have agreed to raise their daughters ‘both in the US and the UK’.
