Vicky Pattinson reflected on her fear of having a family.
Vicky Pattison has opened up about her fear of having children because of her previous struggles with alcohol.
The reality star explained that she is concerned about her babies inheriting alcoholism.
During an interview on This Morning, Pattison spoke out about potential genetic alcoholism.
She shared, “Over the years I’ve had every excuse for not having kids.”
“If those reasons were legitimate it would have been absolutely fine.
“But I think it was all sort of all hiding this feeling that I genuinely believed that I was gonna have children that felt in some way broken, a little bit like me,” she said.
She explained that working on her documentary has helped open her eyes.
It showed her that “there is an element of alcoholism that is a hereditary or learned behaviour.”
“But there is also a huge element of it that we can control if you get to it fast enough, and you have the right resources around you.”
“For the first time in my life, I feel really hopeful in that sense.”
She said she wanted to raise awareness because there is still so much stigma surrounding alcoholism.
The reality star also said filming the documentary was “cathartic”.
‘Vicky Pattison: My Dad, Alcohol and Me’ airs at 10 pm tonight on Channel 4.
