Exams approaching? Why you needn’t worry about your C Grade student

Katie Mythen-Lynch

With the Leaving Certificate exams fast approaching, former US President George ‘Dubya’ Bush has some sage advice for anyone worried they won’t make the grade.

Giving the commencement address to new graduates of the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas this week, President Bush had this to say:

‘To those of you who are graduating this afternoon with high honours, awards and distinctions, I say, “Well done”.

‘And as I like to tell the C-students: You too, can be president.’

According to research, being a ‘C’ student could actually lead to greater success later in life. Students who struggle to achieve higher grades as youngsters tend to have more hustle, are more creative and are less afraid of failure as adults.
