Fake pregnancy gets 16-year-old in REAL trouble

Katie Mythen-Lynch

A US website has come under fire for selling a range of realistic props designed to help women appear pregnant.

Fakeababy.com has hit the headlines after a teenage girl used various accessories purchased from the site to convince her family and her boyfriend that she was pregnant with triplets.

The 16-year-old, from Michigan, bought a silicone ‘Fake Pregnancy Belly’ and personalised fake ultrasound sonograms of triplets, successfully conning those closest to her for nine months. Concerned neighbours even offered donations to help the young mum after hearing her story.

When the mother of the girl’s teenage boyfriend became suspicious, the troubled youngster claimed she had lost all three babies but refused to go to the hospital. The matter was reported to the police.

Now the mother of the boy, Krissy Wyrabkiewicz, has spoken out to warn other people about the bizarre website, which she feels could be used again to intimidate or blackmail:

She told Fox 2: “That website needs to be out. Because, if she can do it that easy, anybody can.”

FakeaBaby.com describes itself as the home of ‘the best gag gifts on earth’, with a bizarre selection of items on offer, including fake pregnancy and DNA tests, fake hospital documents, fake silicone pregnancy breasts and fake X-rays.
