Family 'devastated' as eight-year-old girl passes away after stabbing
A family has been left "devastated" after an eight-year-old girl passed away after being stabbed.
The child living in Brownhills, West Midlands was the victim of a fatal stabbing attack on Saturday, January 20.
Police arrested a man in connection with the attack.
They are treating the incident as domestic related.
West Midlands police issued a statement saying that the eight-year-old was rushed to hospital but she could not be saved.
The 54-year-old man was also taken to hospital to treat a stab wound to his stomach.
He is now in a stable condition and will be questioned accordingly.
Detective Inspector Jim Colclough said:
“We are treating this as a domestic incident and are not looking for anyone else in connection with the child’s death.
“Our family liaison team are supporting the family of the little girl, who are naturally devastated by her death.
"Our thoughts remain with them."
