A touching portrait featuring a young mum, her baby and her late boyfriend has gone viral.
Sierra Sharry’s partner Lane Smith hit is head in a fall, passing away suddenly when she was eight months pregnant.
“July 13th, 2014 was the absolute worst day of my life.” Sharry, 22, wrote on her Facebook page. “I lost my best friend. The father of my unborn child. And since that day I have felt so empty inside. A part of me will forever be missing.”
After baby Taos was born, Sharry booked a photographer to take some portrait shots of mother and son, but felt Lane’s absence was more pronounced than ever.
Then photographer Kayli Henley had an idea: using photo editing software, she superimposed an image of Lane into one of the images, creating a poignant family photo.
“I didn’t know she was going to do it until she sent the photos,” Sharry says. “I was looking through the images Kayli sent me and I saw this one and my heart just stopped. I immediately had to share it.”
