Fears longtime Corrie character could DIE after getting shot in gang attack

Nooooo!

Coronation Street have revealed Simon Barlow’s enemies will be escalating their threats against him next week as they bring a gun to the cobbles – and someone else finds themselves a target.

Simon has been in hiding ever since he told the police the truth about Tyler Jefferies and his gang’s reign of terror, which included an attack on (and attempted robbery of) OAP Flora McArdle.

The teen has been hiding out in Cornwall with his grandad, Ken Barlow, for the last few weeks – but the pair will be returning to Weatherfield next week.

And it looks like Tyler may not have forgotten about the grudge.

As the court case nears, Tyler hopes to scare Simon into silence – and decides to up the threats against him.

After Kate steps in when two masked teens try to bundle Simon into a car, things begin to get really out of hand.

According to The Mirror, the teenager shows his family members the threatening messages – and Peter brings him to the factory, vowing to keep him safe.

But after Carla and Peter leave, Tyler and his pals begin banging on the factory doors in an attempt to scare Simon.

The pair head back to the factory in an attempt to help Simon. Peter stands guard as Carla frantically tries to unlock the doors – but neither notice a nearing car.

The publication reports that Tyler aims a gun at Peter through the open window – and suddenly, a loud bang is heard.

Peter is shot in the chest by Tyler, leaving him crumbling onto the ground as the car speeds away.

The Coronation Street scenes are set to play out next week, so fans won’t have too long to wait before finding out Peter’s fate.
