There is a festival for dogs (and dog owners) happening in Dublin this weekend

Trine Jensen-Burke

Well, this sounds pretty paw-some, I think we can all agree.

If you are looking for something fun to do this bank holiday weekend – especially if you are a dog owner – why not head over to Malahide Castle & Gardens, where a very unique festival is happening right now.

The all-new Pups in the Park, in association with Leader Dog Food, is Ireland’s ultimate doggie day out, taking place over two days in Malahide this weekend.

And with some lovely sunny spells predicted across this Bank holiday weekend, Pups in the Park is the perfect opportunity for pooches – and their human companions – to get out and enjoy some fun in the sun.

What is on at Pups in the Park?

Visitors to the festival can experience the Leader Main Arena, where there will be an action-packed line-up of dog displays and demonstrations including Flyball (the Formula 1 of dog sports).

As well as this, don’t miss the Irish Working Sheepdogs sheep herding; the Chin-Wag with Petinsurance.ie; the Obedience Ring, the exciting Agility Course; the much-anticipated Crave Dog Treats Hay Bale Race; the prestigious Puppy Academy and The DSPCA Great Dog Walk.

Sounds like a ton of pup-friendly fun? We know.

As well as the above, dog-owners will no doubt be excited to hear that experts including well-known TV vet Pete Wedderburn, Rob Walshe “The Irish Dogfather”, dog trainer Laura Jennings, Bobby Ortiz “Dogtor Bob”, dog behaviourist Suzi Walsh and many more will be on hand at Pups in the Park to share their tips and tricks.

And don’t be worrying about where to eat while at the festival – because you won’t go hungry.

Pups in the Park will also boast several delicious dining options such as Griolladh and Los Chicanos, where you can grab a delicious meal or snack on the go. Murphy’s Ice cream will also be there to take care of any sweets cravings – or if you need to cool off after a day in the sun.
