FINALLY! There’s some really good news on the weather front this week

Keeley Ryan

Well, kind of.

It’s been fairly cold the last few days.

The fuzzy socks and the cosy jumpers have been brought out, and it feels like our hot water bottles have become our BFFs.

But Met Éireann have a bit of good news when it comes to the weather – at least for today, anyways.

Wednesday is set to be mainly dry and, while there will be fair amounts of cloud, it looks like the southern part of the country is going to be basking in sunshine.

The weather forecasters predict that there will be a little bit of drizzle near the northwest and northern coasts.

And it’s going to be quite warm, with temperatures reaching highs of 20C in some parts of the country.

This evening is also going to “milder than recent nights” – aka: still quite warm (for nighttime) – with lows of 11C to 13C.

Now for the bad news.

It’s going to be getting cold again – and very quickly, too.

While it’s going to stay dry going into Thursday, there’s going to be “patchy outbreaks of rain/drizzle” that will move southwards through the day.

The highest temperatures will reach between 13C and 18C, with the warmest being over Munster.

As the weekend nears, it’s only going to get cooler – with a dry-but-chillier high of 12C to 14C forecast for Friday, and similar temperatures looking likely for the weekend.
