The first look at the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special is officially here.

And it is looking like total chaos in the kitchen for Uncle Byrn.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed the trailer while rewatching the last episode of season three on the BBC iPlayer.

According to The Sunthe 40-second teaser shows Uncle Byrn frantically rushing around the kitchen as he tries to prepare all the parts of a Christmas dinner.

After burning his hand on one of the pots, he grabs his walkie talkie and calls for help from Gwen, Jason and…well, just about everyone he can.

“The table should have been set 37 minutes ago and the plates are still at Stacey’s,” he says.

Stacey and Nessa run into the kitchen after hearing a massive crash, where they find Byrn on his hands and knees over a smashed plate.

“Stacey, will you kindly inform everyone that dinner will be ever-so-slightly delayed?” he asks them.

Gavin & Stacey returns to BBC One on Christmas Day – and we cannot wait.

James Corden sent fans into a frenzy when he announced the Christmas special back in May this year.

Ruth Jones and James Corden, said at the time:

“Over the last ten years we’ve talked a lot about Gavin and Stacey – where they might be today and what their lives might look like.

“And so in secret we took the plunge and wrote this one hour special. We’ve loved revisiting Barry and Essex again and bringing the characters back together has been a joy.

“We’re so excited to get the chance to work with our fabulous cast and crew once more and to give fans of the show a festive treat this Christmas. Thank you BBC for helping to make this happen.”

Gavin & Stacey broadcast over three series (plus a Christmas special) from 2007 to 2010 on the BBC.

It followed Gavin, an ordinary boy from Essex in England and Stacey, an ordinary girl from Barry in Wales, who spoke on the phone to each other every day at work.

They finally met, fell in love and got married.

The series went onto explore the simple love story of these two young people from different parts of the UK, and the impact their relationship had on their friends and family.
